First draft & feedback

Image
After spending quite a while on editing all our film footage through the use of Adobe Premiere pro and Photoshop, my group and I have finally got our first draft to get feedback from so that if any changes need doing we had plenty of time before the deadline to complete them. We want our thriller to be the best that it can be so we wanted to have plenty of feedback even if it was only nit picking at the opening as others may see mistakes that we may not. Below is the first draft and after that are the bits of feedback we got from our peers. We got told the overall idea was great with some good performances, great shots and editing. The few things we picked out from our feedback where: To put idents at the start (BBFC), Company logo, fades to black Remove Starring – not needed Repetition of ‘Raven Black’ (0.15) (This was a technical malfunction) Volume changes between first scene and Beth voiceover – needs to be more consistent. Too quiet in first part. (0.29) a...

Raven Call's- Storyboard

Image
Instead of drawing and writing out my story board I decided to make a digital copy which not only gives much better quality drawings and detail but its much easier to put on to my blogger. I produced my story board on a website called StoryboardThat ( http://www.storyboardthat.com/ ).

Legal documents

Image
Before we could begin filming my group and I needed to fill in some legal documents which helped to ensure that during filming everyone who is taking part in the production of 'Raven Call's' will be safe. First of all we had to get our two extras- Josh Attwell and Sophie Turton- to sign a contract which stated that they gave their permission that they would be in our production and that they cannot ask for the film to be taken off of YouTube for whatever they're reasoning maybe. We then began through the progress of finding our locations for filming and this meant that we had to fill in a 'risk assessment'. This is a contract which we fill in with all the dangers which could possibly occur while filming, while filling this in we have to be practical and realistic as it is a very serious document as it considers the safety of everyone that will be on set, this document is not only important but its mandatory for anyone producing a film. Below is a photo of our ...

Location Pt.2- Office

Below is a prezi I have made to show you our process of choosing the location of our therapist office and how we went about using it.

Production logo

Image
With our film we wanted to make a production logo for our group. My group and I talked a lot about what can our production team be called? How can our logo be realistic? How can our logo suit a production company which makes thrillers? How can we make the logo? After taking all of these questions into consideration I began drawing some testers up (shown below).   After looking at what I had produced we choose the logo we thought looked the best and was the most realistic; this was the logo with Jab productions in red inside the needle. Below is the final design which we used photo-shop to produce. We are going to use this on our posters and in our thriller opening.

As we want to make our thriller realistic we wanted to add a few creative touches to our portfolio and I really enjoyed making these posters as they look really cool and I think they suit our thriller below are our posters for our thriller.

Steven Spielberg

Steven Spielberg. One of the greatest directors of all time (in my opinion), hes been the director of some of the major smash hits of the last 30-40 decades producing such hits like: E.T. the Extra-terrestrial Jaws Saving Private Ryan Indian Jones Hook Warhorse Jurassic Park- first and second The original poltergeist The Goonies Within these movies and many more that he's directed, and possibly produced, he's won 3 Oscars, another 176 awards including Golden globes, BAFTA awards etc. and on top of those he's been nominated for another 170. He's won these awards for directing some of the most successful films of the last 50 years (over 56 films and produced over 161)  and he's done this by using his own style and bringing the characters and plot alive. In his work you may or should notice some key elements he uses in his work, things like  using powerful flashlights in dark scenes (shown in Jurassic Park, E.T. etc.) also in a lot of his films he uses...
